Important Notice Regarding Credit Cards:

Quickin Events does NOT store your credit card credentials. All payment processing is handled directly by PayFast. When a user enters their card details, the information is sent directly to PayFast's secure vault. We only receive a confirmation token that the payment was successful.

System Maintenance

Scheduled maintenance is performed during low-traffic hours (typically 02:00 - 04:00 SAST). During this time, ticket scanning may be briefly unavailable, but ticket sales usually remain active via cached pages.

We will notify all active hosts 48 hours prior to any major maintenance.

Rescue Mode

In the unlikely event of a primary server failure, our Rescue Mode automatically activates. This switches traffic to our standby server cluster, ensuring your event page remains online and ticket scanning can continue offline if needed.

Host Registration Data Flow

1. Account Creation

Host enters details. Data is validated and hashed (passwords) instantly.

2. Identity Verification

System checks against fraud databases. POPIA consent recorded.

3. Secure Storage

Data encrypted at rest in our primary database cluster. Backup initiated.

4. Dashboard Access

Host gains access to create events and manage finances.

Ticket Purchase Data Flow

1. Selection & Cart

User selects tickets. Session data stored temporarily in Redis cache.

2. Payment Handoff

User redirected to PayFast. No card data touches our servers.

3. Confirmation Webhook

PayFast sends secure token. System generates unique QR code & PDF.

4. Delivery & Sync

Email sent to user. Scanner apps synced instantly for gate entry.

Event Cancellation & Rollback Policy

Immediate Freeze

When a host cancels an event, ticket sales are immediately frozen. No further transactions can occur.

Automatic Refund Trigger

Our system automatically initiates a full refund rollback to all ticket holders via the original payment method (PayFast). This typically takes 3-7 business days depending on the bank.

Data Retention

While the event is cancelled, transaction records are retained for 5 years as required by SARS tax law, but personal attendee data is anonymized upon request.
